Attukal Pongal is a 10 day festival celebrated at the Attukal Bhagawathy Temple in Trivandrum, as part of the festival southern railways has announced special stoppages for limited trains in Trivandrum Petta and Tripunithara.
On the 9th day of the festival, there is a huge gathering of millions of women. They prepare a divine food made of rice in earthen pots (Same like pongal preparation pots) and offered into the goddess of the temple Attukal Amma.
