Southern Railways has announced the launch of daily special trains between Mangalore and Chennai. The daily special train with number 02685 and 02686 will be operated from Chennai Central to Mangalore Central and Mangalore Central to Chennai respectively.
The train services from Chennai Central will be operated from 8th December 2020 until further notice and from Mangalore Central will be operated from 9th December 2020 until further notice, both the trains are daily special trains.
The train service is operated with a composition of one AC first class cum aC 2 tier, 2 AC 2tier, 3 AC 3 Tier, 11 Sleeper and Three General Second class coaches.
The daily super fast special train with no. 02685 Chennai Central to Mangalore Central will depart from Chennai Central at 5:00 pm to reach Mangalore Central next day morning 9:00 am. The first service from Dr. MGR Chennai Central will be on 8th Dec 2020 until further advice.
In return direction, train no. 02686 Mangalore Central to Dr. Mgr Chennai Central will depart from Mangalore at 4:35 pm and arrive in Chennai at 8:00 am. The first service from Mangalore Central will be on 9th December 2020 until further notice.
The train has stoppages in both directions at Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Podanur, Palakkad, Shornur, Tirur, Kozhikode, Vadakara, Tellichery, Kannur, Payannur, Nileshwar, Kanhangad and Kasargod.
